An undergraduate dissertation proposal is a paper that is common amongst college students and is often a requirement to graduate, depending on their major. The first thing to do in writing an undergraduate dissertation proposal is to pick the topic. Stick with a narrowed topic that you are very knowledgeable about, as this will help you during research phase and make it easier to come up with a question that you want answered within your paper. Once you have created your topic, apply it to your thesis statement. Make sure the thesis statement is catchy and descriptive without being too long – it needs to only be a sentence or two.

After the thesis statement has been set in stone, begin creating a methodology to help you solve your question. The methodology will be a separate chapter in your thesis paper, so you need to be as descriptive as possible. The purpose of the methodology is to allow the reader to see how you came to your conclusions regarding the question. A well-written literature review will help the readers to see how plausible your resources are and how you came to some of your conclusions. The conclusion of your paper will summarize your findings, as well as the results and analysis of your paper.

The undergraduate research proposal is the same as a research proposal writing. You are creating a plan to present to others to inform them of what you want to know and how you plan on unveiling the answers. The main purpose is to make sure that your topic is worth the time and that you will have the proper information and resources to go through with your research. The undergraduate dissertation proposal can later act as an outline for the dissertation itself or as a reference for a later assignment.
